Tens of thousands of Hindu Temples in India have been taken over by various state governments who have maintained their presence for the last many decades in these temples. The constitution of India under article 25, 26 and 29 (1) specifically allows all religious denominations to manage and administer their own religious affairs. Hindu Trigonometry 1: Theory (about 6 mins)

John Playfair, a scottish mathematician, after a thorough research wrote an article called Remarks on the Astronomy of Brahmins. He came to conclusion that the Hindus had not borrowed the theory behind the calculations from the Greeks or the Arabs. In fact, he remarks Hindus had a theoritical foundation of trigonometry for hundreds of years, which merited them with knowledge in Astronomy.
